Published Work

Writing for me is a means of creative expression, shared connection, and deeper understanding. A growing number of pieces I have written have found homes in various publications. Some began as blog posts here, others were long, in-depth undertakings. I’ve listed a few of the more recent ones below.

I have forthcoming work in the Montana Quarterly and Blueline in June 2017.

The Hopper, a literary magazine put out by  Green Writers Press in Brattleboro, Vermont published my essay Two Ways to Take in March, 2016. This essay emerged from my M.S. thesis/book project and is all about two very different ways to go about collecting and processing sap from sugar maple trees.

I write regular missives and articles for Missoula Valley Lifestyle. Here are a few of the more recent articles:

Perfect Moments October, 2017–On the ephemerality of perfect moments

Thank You, Farmer April, 2017 –On why farmers are invaluable and should always be thanked

Less Is More February, 2017 –On integrating our homes into our cities and using our waste to build

Christmas in the Desert November, 2016 –On Christmas traditions with my grandpa in the desert

On the Wild River October, 2016 –About a July, 2016 trip on the South Fork of the Flathead

I have also published an essay and photos in Camas: Nature of the West a wonderful place-based literary magazine published out of the Environment Studies Program at the University of Montana.
